Letter to Nicholas Nickleby

May 31

Hi Nicholas!

It´s good you are working for a theatre company. Is the job interesting? How much money are you getting for this job?
I write to tell you that things here couldn´t be worse.
Kate lost her job at the dressmaker´s and she is now working as companion of a woman called Mrs Wititterly. Kate is so sad because she met an ugly old man called Sir Mulberry Hawk at Ralph´s house and he visits her every day at Mrs Wititterly house. He likes her, but she hates him because he had embarassed her with stupid jokes at dinner at your uncle`s house. She says that Sir Mulberry Hawk treats her like a toy.
Your mother thinks that Mulberry is a gentleman. She wants him to marry your sister.
I heard all these things when your sister and your uncle were talking in Ralphs office (I heard through the door!).
In the conversation she asked him for help but he said that he could not help her because Sir Mulberry Hawk is an important customer.
Then Kate left the house.
That´s all I know and I can tell you.
I hope you keep writing me!
I wait for an answer.

Best wishes,

Newman Noggs

cartitaa para Newmannnnnnnnn

HI Newman!
I am writing to you, because I need to know about my mother and my sister. I hope that they are ok; I have to say that the life without them is really difficult because I miss them a lot. Please tell me where are they living. Is Kate working with the dressmaker? My mother, how is she? Please let me know everything you can.
I write to you because I am afraid that if I write to them my uncle would find the letter and he can do bad things to my family , you know what I am talking about.
About me it is simple, I am working for a small theatre, called “the Sun”. It is something good for me and for Smike because he is working with me. We haven’t so much money but we can live. I am in the South of England, and my street is “55 street” so please write to me.
Thank you very much Newman, it is great to have someone like you.
Love,
Nicholas Nickleby.

CELL PHONES AND THE ENVIRONMENT!

An environmental research organization partly funded by the EPA, has estimated that cell phones are typically used only for about 10 months before being replaced. Calling plans are often packaged with free or low-cost cell phones, which often makes keeping your current phone economically disadvantageous. Becouse of that, many cell phones face their demise before they have become technologically obsolete, and the waste stream gets not only the cell phones that are truly unusable, but also those that are simply no longer the best deal for the owner.

How does this affect the environment? In addition to the volume of landfill space that cell phones could take up, they also contain toxic chemicals such as:

* arsenic (used in some semiconductors)
* brominated compounds (used as flame retardants)
* lead (used in the solder that attaches components to circuit boards)

These and other cell-phone toxins enter the environment when discarded cell phones are incinerated or when rainwater leaches the materials out of landfilled phones. Many of the toxic compounds in cell phones are found on the EPA's list of "persistent, bioaccumulative, and toxic chemicals." EPA warns that these substances can cause a range of adverse human health effects, including damage to the nervous system, reproductive and developmental problems, and cancer.

I think we must take care of this situation and we have to be more concious about where our old cell phones go! Is important to keep your current phone all you can!

If not, you better call a doctor!

Cell phones

Wiiiii!! This time I had a lot of problems to post, my computer was out of order and internet didn´t work. =(

But now y can. I am going to tell you something about cellular phones.

Cellular phones

The beginning history of cell phones is based upon radio technology that was developed from the 1940's onward. For instance the beginning of cell phones can be traced to the innovation in taxi cabs, police cars and other service vehicles where two way radios were used to communicate with one another or with a central base. Early cell phone communication technology could be even traced back to individuals with special radios that can patch into a phone line via live operator to make a phone call.

The first official mobile phone was used in Sweden by the Swedish police in 1946.

In my opinion a cellular phone is a wireless phone that most people these days communicate with. It is very usefull, but in some cases the people is addict at it, and want to have the new phone, or the last one model. The companies always makes new plans or cell phones to make money. But then they don´t do that they said, somethimes they are only interested in earn money.

But in conclusion cell phones are nessesary today, we use it all the time.

Ok i hope you like it!!! =)=)

Bye

The mobile phones’ history:

The history began in the Second Mundial Word, when the people realized that they need communicated through the distances. Then Motorola’s company made an equip calls Handie Talkie H12-16, what work with avenue wave of radio.
Martin Cooper is considerate like the father of the mobile phones; he fabricated the first radio telephone in 1970, in EE.UU. They appeared in Tokyo, Japan in 1979; in Scandinavia in 1981 and in Chicago in 1983.
Just in 1980 created an equip for people, generally for successful businessman who must be communicated.
In 2001 appeared the mobile phones in colors, so the camera also. And together with this innovation appeared the text messages and late the Multimedia messages.
Finally Nokia made a games’ centre, where you can play games 3D, watch television and videos.

Generations of the mobile phone:

1º generation: created in 1979, required radio’s waves. They weigh 1kg and were very large.
2º generation: created in 1990, used Digital Technology. They had text and multimedia message.
3º generation: use in the actuality.

MY OPINION:

I think the mobile phones improvement very quickly and they are perfect communicate equips. Everybody have one. We are very used to depend of them so I think it’s impossible them disappear.
But I’m disagree to become obsessed to get the last one model because all of them are similar and just have to device to talk and communicate each other not to compete.

Mobile Phones.

History of Cell Phones
A cellular phone is a wireless phone that most people these days communicate with. It seems that not to long ago that people were still using house. Not little kids have cell phones. In 1843 a man by the name of Michael Faraday studied to see if space could conduct electricity. In the year of 1865 Doctor Mahlon Loomis was the first person to communicate through wireless atmosphere. He came up with the idea of transmitting and receiving messages through atmosphere as a conductor. Loomis was awarded 50,000 for his research.
In 1973 martin copper came up with Motorola. He took the project and let the people of New York see it. In 1977 the first cell phone was made in Chicago. When it first came out 2000 people was given a free trial. Then other places started to make cell phones. When to cell phone first came out they were huge. The people did not know how to make the phone any more compact. In 1988 the big company's started to make cell phones. There were over 54 places all over the world.
From the year 1843 to now phones have changes a lot. In the year 2010 you will be able to search the internet for what every on the phone. This is now happening but in the future in will become more advanced.
Cell phones are getting harder and harder to use. The only thing that people need to know how to do is call some one and to store numbers. This is not how the cell phone companies think. They think that you need text message, car phone, radio phone, and that you need 25 different channel on a phone . I could see if it was on TV. But that is not all you need to know how to call the number. All that you really need to know about working cell phone is how to dial the numbers.
In concution I think that cell phones will change by the years . I do not think that cell phones are a bad invention because is very usefull to do a lot of things, for example: you can comunicate with friends and family and stuff like that. But cell phones have a desadvantage too, sometimes they are irritaing because some people is adict to this invention, but if you use it for an useful cause it is ok.
Well, I hope you like it! See you next time!

Mobile Phones

Hi! This is the second time I post in this blog. I'll tell you a little bit about mobile phones..

Mobile phones, also called cell phones, were first invented in 1947, in USA. Reserchers discorvered that using cells (rage of service area) with frequency reuse they could increase the traffic capacity of mobile phones. These means you could call much further. However, they didn't have the technollogy to do that.

Until then, two-way radios, something similar to cell phones that origined them, were used only in vehicles, like taxicabs. With the first ones you couldn't even dial any numbers. Then they were modified, but they were sitll too heavy and exepnsive to be carried everywhere. But the first actual mobile phone was made in 1973 by Martin Cooper (who worked for Motorola), who also made the first call using a cell phone. It was very big and could only make calls. The first city to have mobile phone service was Chicago, with almost 2000 users, on the year 1977.

Cell phones have changed a lot since then. One of the biggest changes was SMS technollogy. Then, surprisingly fast, mobile phones started improving and acquiring different functions, like full-colour screen, ring tones, etc. Now, most of them have cameras, bluetooth, mp3 music players, enough memory to save documents, pictures, music and other stuff and can be conected to the Internet.

Cell phones are certainly one of the most important inventions of the 20th century. They changed the way we communicate (although I think the Internet increased communication much more), allowing us to talk to anyone from anywhere you are. It's a really useful invention, specially for emergencies. But it also has lots of disadvantages. First of all, you don't have much privacy. People can watch what you have in your phone (see your pictures or read your text messages) by just having simple programs. Cameras in cell phones are also a problem for privacy, because people can take pictures when you are unprepared. Other problem, according to some people, is that mobile phones have radiation that can harm humans. However, I don't think this is true. But a real problem I see in cell phones is "addicion" to them. You can see everyday that more and more people, specially teenagers and kids, are connected to them. They can't go out if they don't have their cell phones. Sharing ring tones all the time seems to be their fun for hours. If you don't have the lastest technollogy, you are "out". But on the other hand, I don't think taking the advantages of cell phones is bad or harming. In conclusion, I think cell phones are a good invention, as long as you don't depend on them!

I hope you liked it.

MOBILE PHONES TECHNOLOGY NOWADAYS :)

Hi everyone! This is the second time I contribute with this blog, this time i'm here writing a text about cell phones.

Since mobile phones were created, in 1983, they have made a huge revolution in the communication between people all over the world. This invention is one of the most successful technological development ever created. We are all delighted because we can communicate with people in other countries or continents in just few seconds and in a very easy and economical way, but, do we realise that such technology is in an indirect way separating us from each other?

The advantages of cell phones

Mobile phones play a very important role in nowadays' society. For example, children can go almost anywhere and at the same time parents can communicate with them. Luckily, there are several ways to keep in touch with others. We can send a text message (SMS); a multimedia message (MMS), which can include photos or sounds; leave a voice mail, which will be heard when the other people turns his/her phone on; or just call.
At this moment, a common cell phone has a lot of other functions than just call, like old one. They can take photos, replacing digital cameras; show videos; pass information or ringtones through the bluetooth system; store over 200 numbers in the phonebook; play games and so on.
The most trendy and sophisticated ones are very small and flat, they can weight less than a wallet, and the colours, shapes and designs are completely amazing and brilliant.

Disadvantages of mobile phones

As all new inventions, mobile phones can be very efficient but can also have a bad influence on society.
This latest revolution has been recognized worldwide for its excellence in communicating people all over the world. But i think that there's a big point that we all should take into account. Each time we want to talk with others, we easily send a text message, we call them or we also use computers to write e-mails or to chat. This are efficient ways of having a relationship with people, but i personally don't think it's the best one. How many times do we see and speak face to face to each other if we only send messages and speak on the cell phone? Unfortunately, not much.

Technology is invading our lives and we should all be careful and moderated to know how to deal with it. Only this solution will take us to a good future :)

Well, i hope you've enjoyed my text. See you soon ,

cell phones =)

Cell phones are wireless phones that people can use in any place they are. To make calls or to send message you must be in a place where you have signal to comuticate, to call another cell-phone or telephone. You can send text messages (sms) where you write what you want and you send to another person wich has a cell phone, or you can send multimedia messages (mms), this are photos, videos, music or draws. Everything you send in a mms can be taken, as photos, recorded, as videos, music, or done by/with the cell-phone.
Having a cell-phone is something ordinary this days, everybody has one and know how to use it. It is one of the most popular ways to comunicate.
In my opinion tfis is an excellent invention, i can call whoever i need or want while i am walking in the street, i can tell somebody something important in a seconds without having to wait to be in my house or found a public phone, one that's not out of order, that is really defficult!
There are people that is obsess with this and that cannot live without them, to me this is really stupid, before cell-phones were invented people live as good as now, this is not a necesary thing to live.
While i was doing this, i was thinking how technology is progrssing, i was using my cell-phone through the computer, sending messages from my pc. This shows that people is not happy having two thing from the last generation, they have to use them together...

Back to zero
The time's about to come
Let them know
You're not just anyone

Mobile phones

What is a mobile phone really?

A mobile phone is a device created to make calls without having to use a telefone with a wire pluged to the socket, it works with a signal wich is communicated with a network, wich sends the signal to the other phone you are trying to call. Nowadays mobile phones are really small and normal, but some years ago, it wasn't. From a mobile phone, you can rather call, send an SMS text or a MMS. With an SMS you cann write whatever you want to say to the other person and he or she will receive it. With an MMS message you can send your vidoes, photos, sounds, or even send text too!. Since 2 years ago mostly, the mobile phones have digital cameras in them, and some even let you hear music!

My opinion
I think that in this society, mobile phones are handfull, you can be connected to your family and friends fast and easy. I have a mobile phone myself, and i like using it very much. A few years ago it was really rare that someone had a mobile phone, but in these days it's really normal.

Well, that's pretty much it, i hope you like it!
